Summer Sleep is the indie folk/dreampop/lo-fi act you call when you need the audience's minds collectively-blown. To see them live, Summer Sleep will shake your core on your-shared journey: haunting indie folk with pulsating vintage drum beats, ethereal all-analog dreampop with drips of shoegaze, heart-wrenching introspection, all against the backdrop of cheeky wit and a HUGE voice from the larger-than-life Pete A.
On vinyl, they are a perfect fall morning with a warm blanket, a tea, and headphones. Live, they are a lion released from a cage, and we all cling for our lives... loving every second of it.
The journeyman creator is Pete A, who created Summer Sleep in 2020, recording an album on his bathroom floor to cope after losing his family, his job, his dog, and everything dear in a matter of weeks. He has toured with or opened for countless musicians, including Shakey Graves, Priscilla Ahn, James McMurtry, Weezer, and many, many more. In fact, he even had the chance to strum some chords with a young, pre-fame Taylor Swift at one of his longstanding sets at Blue Marsh in Pennsylvania!
He has worked with producers/engineers Keith Gary (Credits with Coldplay, Simon & Garfunkel, Bill Withers, Dream Theater, and more.) and Blue October bassist Matt Novesky/TRCOA.
Pete has been in various bands opening for: Shakey Graves, Wild Child, Quiet Company, Sons of Fathers (Paul Cauthen and David Beck), Bayonne, Bright Light Social Hour, Terri Hendrix, Mobley, Warren Hood, The Deer, Phox, Pete Yorn, Hank Williams III, Zeale, Carolyn Wonderland, and countless more.
